Squeeling, squeeking brakes come from the rotors being glazed. The remedy: clean 'em up with some fine grit sandpaper then follow up with a product like Brake Kleen.

The area I live and ride in is completely immersed with hidden ambushing radar jockeys even in the rural areas, so riding without protection can get very expensive. There are several options, the only place I know of that you can be ticketed for any visible radar detection or laser jamming...

I wouldn't do it unless I could come up with a hugger somewhere. So far I haven't found one. It is big and ugly.

Everyone has to occassionally, IMHO it's just no fun at all, but thats not what you asked is it? If you must, there was some excellent advise already given. I'll add to it ride almost as if your on ice "cautiously", try to be extra smooth with all throttle inputs, gear changes and of course...

I keep seeing pictures of Gen 1 bikes with the setup but contacted Givi and they said they don't produce it. Even if ya don't wanna sell yours, where do I find the setup?

My previous bike before the FZ 1 was a ZX-14. I actually loved it and was just as comfy on it as the FZ 1. The engine of the 14 is way smoother with much less bad vibes, monster torque, hyperspace acceleration. I rode many 300 to 500 mile days on the 14 and in two years rode it 26000 miles...

Hello, I just bought a used 2002 FZ 1 with 8300 miles. The seller said he didn't ride much and that may be the problem. When I try to start the bike it wants to be throttled up even at full choke to start. It takes a while to warm up and seems to load up some at idle for a while after warm up...
