Just to throw a spanner in the works , although the gen 2 doesn't have a choke as such it does however have a cold start device,(auxiliary air valve) operated via a wax stat , the plungers seize on them causing a starting issue as you describe, location is in the centre of the throttle bodies...
Hi all
Can anyone enlighten me on the bung that falls out with ref to clutch? Any pics would be great and is gen 2 related or only relevant to gen 1
Many thanks Dale
Hi guys
Couple of questions if you will on gen 2 clutch basket
First I've pulled the clutch apart as its very noisy (I have replacement on the way ) and noticed lack of oil on the plates in general, I did hear of a mod involving drilling extra holes in the basket to allow more oil through...
Hi
I disconnected the 02 sensor when I fitted a power commander and had no issues with a light, I did however fit an 02 eliminator in the plug eventually just in case , so I doubt removing the cat would have much effect either
Hi guys
As title , the buttons on the dash have been intermittent for some time now , but just recently have stopped working altogether, it started with the reset one not working now the other one has frozen out . Any one had this or knows of a fix ?
I can only think that maybe the piston is sticking when warmed up making the pad bind slightly, then ok when cooled down again,, I'll give it another good clean and try and monitor it during a ride
Hi
Yes brake fluid recently changed, piston is free I can all but push it back with my thumbs, new sliders and rubber boots .. since I've done this the pads have lasted a lot longer ,however only 7k and the outer one is done , inner one still like new !!
Good evening
Hope you all had a good Christmas!! .. does anyone else experience uneven rear brake pad wear , I keep having to replace the pads every couple of years as the outer one wear out (piston side ) although the inner one is still like new !! Last time I replaced them I changed the...
Managed to get out today for a few miles , the new sprocket has made a huge difference!! Still a bit of noise but nothing like it was so good result!! . I picked the sprocket up from Ebay from bike torque, just the noisey clutch to deal with now
Thanks for the reply
Every thing looks good , i have just replaced the front sprocket for one with the damper , not had a chance to try it yet but certainly sounds quieter spinning the rear wheel !! I will report back
Morning all
Not been on here for sometime , I found it impossible to find the site, so much so I thought it had gone, anyway I've recreated my account and finally I'm back , there will be hours of reading to catch up now
Morning
I've noticed the chain has become very noisy/whiny over the last few months , it was replaced about 10k ago. Every thing seems ok wear wise , I'm wondering if it's worth trying an oe front sprocket on it with the damper to so if this helps any thoughts , experiences?
Cheers
I have a stock muffler on mine and am very happy with it, I wouldn't worry about the cables or servo as it's only there for noise reduction, just wire the flap open, it makes it easier to swap out the slip on if you do fancy a noisy day out !
It sounds like it detected a low voltage to the abs, I'm surprised it hasn't reset itself with the battery fitted ! Is the battery charging in the bike ok ?
