Can you elaborate on the starts easier?
Like getting it to actually fie and run is easier on the higher octane or idle when the motor is cold is better?
How do you know the engine temp is cooler? My Gen 1 only has a light that comes on if the bike is too hot.
Additives are the most important part. My bike runs like crap on cheap gas but runs good on high quality gas.
Also Summer Blend is super noticeable in how my bike runs.
So on my commute home my GoPro filled up and stopped recording about 1 mile from where this incident happened which is a bummer cause it would have been crazy footage.
As I am sure many of you do - I do my best to be a good citizen when riding and notify drivers if something is hanging off...
When my commutes are uneventful I consider that awesome.
Was cloudy and in the upper 50s on the ride down to work this morning. Sunny now and in the upper 60s and should be a glorious ride home.
Octane does not = quality - it is just a a measure of detonation. Yamaha says the engine only needs 87 - no reason to go higher.
I would stay away from any small brand fuel and stick with the bigger names that have better quality control. Since it was running fine before you filled it up I...
I had a similar issue with my sons quad, the carb overflow line was leaking. I had a local mechanic who works out of his garage rebuild the carb for me and the leaking stopped.
White smoke from the tailpipe means you have water/coolant getting into the chamber... probably a leaking head gasket.
Oh yeah. That is what I love about MotoGP - outside of "Free Practice" everything is a race that matters.
- Practice - better be in the top 10 for a direct transfer to Q2
- Q1 - Better be in the top 2 to get into Q2
- Q1 - Race for Pole and other top 12 grid spots
- Then the actual race
I...
MM was 3rd in the official Practice today following Maverick and Jorge.
Qualifying should be really exciting tomorrow with the insanely fast times Jorge and Mavrick put down today - might even see a sub 2:01 lap time.
Plugs may be the issue - but in reality they should last 100K miles.
You might be having trouble with Winter Blend Gasoline. My Gen 1 has a very rough time in the mornings when the engine is cold but runs fine once it is at operating temps. As soon as the gas stations change to Summer Blend all...
Sounds like Dorna is trying to come up with big rules changes for the 2027 season (the next time they have planned for big rules changes I believe) that will make Aero less valuble.
I do really miss the pre-aero days when the Ducati's were fast on the straights but harder to turn and the...
looks like we have a few new members who follow the sport so perhaps we bring back this annual thread? Looks like we missed a few years.
I am pretty dang excited for COTA this weekend. I really want Rins to win it like he did last year - but Marc is going to be hard to beat now that he is...
I have a 2007 Silverado with the 4.8 v8 in it. does not leak or burn oil, 210k miles. I also have a 2012 Suburban with the 5.3 v8 in it and it burns a bunch of oil.
