<ENVY> Oh man... I'm trying to hang-on to my epic Ouray memories, and you guys just pop-over there again?! You're killing me!! </ENVY>
Seriously - great pics, and I'm not sure how you could top the "Million-Dollar" time you had with your family! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks all!
Looks like the 2016 ride would be more than twice as far for me! I may have to retire to do that one!
Yeah… like Dustin said – over 2000-miles. The heat was brutal in central/west Texas. (Ambient readings of 115-degrees while on the road.) I don’t think I want to ride out...
Haha! Thanks to Brenda for snapping the pic with HER camera!
2015 Forum Meetup in Ouray: I think it’s going to be hard for me to top that one… Thanks again Brenda, Dustin, and John for a safe and spectacular ride!
Glad to hear you made it back safely, Dustin! I keep looking at the pictures, wishing I was watching the Ouray sunset from the Matterhorn!
Cheers!
Mark

Dustin - thanks! Best of luck for the remainder of your trip! It was great to meet and ride with you - had a blast!!
J_Slyter - I left right @ 6:30am local time and rolled-in to Pecos just under 12 and 1/2 hours. (Google maps shows 636 miles.) Ironically - I was cold for the first 4...
I made it home! Two days of (ambient) 115-degrees in Texas. I rode from Ouray all the way to Pecos, TX on day one. It was rough!
Good luck Dustin on your return trip! Thanks for giving me motivation since you're going farther! :(
Thanks Brenda and John for being my tour-guide!

Wow - I though I was traveling far. That's a long haul from Vancouver, Dustin! Hope to see/meet you there! I just swapped-in my "highway" sprockets for the long slabs.... Ride safe!
That track riding sure looks fun!
What did I do to my FZ1? Last night I swapped-in my "highway" sprockets for next week's forum meet-up in Ouray, CO. Changed from my "city gear" (16/47) to my "cruiser gear" (17/42) since 90% of my ride will be 75mph+.
OK – here’s my take…
From 10-30mph, you’re certainly not going to have “great torque.” The ONLY other bike I have direct experience with (other than the FZ1) was my old ’77 Suzuki GT 550 (2-stroke triple) I rode back in college. To me it was a red-light rocket-ship. With an 8000rpm...
Thanks Dustin. As of now – it seems I’m in. (I made my reservations at the Matterhorn a few weeks ago. Thanks, Benda!) I’m just trying to plan my route and stops, because I’ve got 750-miles of “slabbing” before I turn left at Albuquerque on the Million-Dollar Highway. Quite honestly –...
