    Ivan's Reflash?

Interesting! I am getting better mpg ( if that is what I am trying for) with the new ecu flash and Ivan's map than I got when I was using Jondaddy's map, before the re-flash, and it was really lean. My cruising rpms are normally at around 5 to 6 grand. The bike is butter- smooth at all...

    Air Box Mod Question

Phil, you put a lot of time and effort into presenting your side of this discussion. I not only agree with you, but thank you for doing so. Dave

    So.. Tank Pad? Stomp Pad?

I know others have had trouble with the glue failing but with 2+ years mine show no signs of giving up. They are black and I love the grip, not too harsh at all.

    Shorty exhaust??

The V&H CS One is not a shorty but does show off the swingarm better than most. Dave

    Tire Choice ???

Me, too. I was actually surprised on how much better the handling feels. I am also liking regular old Pilot Powers. There are plenty of newer and more technologically-advanced tires available but the Powers can be found for a good price and have all the stick needed for any kind of street...

More lessons learned from the deer encounter

Great report, Rex. I ride with a modular helmet, Shoei Multitec, so it is nice to hear a report were a modular was in a real wreck and worked. That was a bad wreck, glad you are alright and back to riding. Dave

    Mivv Ghibli Exhaust?

I think the CS one looks better than the Mivv or the Micron. It is inexpensive, sounds great and is readily available. Dave

    Motorcycle Accident VS Automobiles?

Let me ask some simple questions. Is there anyone here that cannot ride from point a to point b without falling over? Can you apply your brakes and stop safely? Can you recognize dangerous riding conditions? It is not an inherent inability of a motorcycle to perform safely but our choices...

    Motorcycle Accident VS Automobiles?

I call BS. You need to look very carefully at the method used to determine "equal". The best report I have ever read was done by a police department where they took same age, same sex, same skill, all combined with miles driven and found motorcycles to be involved in fewer accidents. If you...

    Wind screen comparison thread

No, not at all. But the CD screen is not designed to block all the wind, just smooth it. So it really is important to decide what you expect from a screen before choosing one. For my own use, I do not want to stop the wind, just control it a bit. Dave

    New V&H Gen II Exhaust

Here's a better picture. I took this down to the Yamaha shop and they proclaimed the volume of the exhaust to be between a GYTR and a Two Brothers. They really liked it. As do I. Dave

    Hotter Thermostat Available?

I thought it was a good question. Adjusting the operating temperature is why they sell differently rated thermostats. I'm guessing by the responses that no one knows, because if it was just that it was wrong to change anything on our carefully designed bikes they would all be stock. Dave

    New V&H Gen II Exhaust

This is a great pipe! Fired it up yesterday and did a walk around while the wife cracked the throttle both with and without the baffle. It is louder than stock but not offensively so. In fact the exhaust tone without the baffle was so smooth and deep, I decided to try a ride without it. I passed...
