Yep something is up. Even when I get on mine (which was every time I'm out) I fill up at 140miles. Doing the math miles ridden divided by how many gls I added it's always 36-39MPG
Well I only picked it up this morning. Of course since it's new I couldn't / didn't get on it plus tires need to be scrubbed/scuffed. With that said not much to report about the ride. I have a lot of reading to do and get used to ABS. She's attached.
Well I did the deal today and should pick up my Red ZX10R ABS tmwr. They gave me 4200 for my bright orange FZ lol, I think because they really needed to get rid of that 2012 Kawa. All said and done, I financed $9826.
Ok guys thanks for the replies.
@ballmead: Test rides are out of the question here since these are new bikes (leftovers) still sitting on the dealer's showroom floor un-prepped.
So I am ready for another bike and have my loan already approved. Since I've never ridden a full sports bike I need input on which is the better buy. I will just ride around like I currently do, and maybe a track day or two just for the experience and improve my riding skills. I know some of you...
Yep looked into it already, and I will admit I'm not going to be happy with the new payments unless I buy the bike cash like I did the FZ and only have liability.
Not sure I want to go that route on this bike, it's damn near twice what I paid for the FZ lol.
True, but since I've accepted the fact it'll be more uncomfortable than my FZ, I might as well get the one that reports claim is more comfortable. I've sat on the R1 (2012 new)and could have gotten a great deal on one that had aftermarket exhaust and everything, just seems like the reach is...
Yea I'd love to try them all but sitting on the showroom floor doesn't do much justice, so I'll be pissing in the wind, and just going on magazine reports and people that have ridden most of sport bikes.
Going from this to this. As you can tell, I like orange. I've heard Honda is the most comfortable of sportbikes, never riden one much like I'd never riden an FZ1 before purchasing. I will be selling (privately) my FZ upon redeployment.
07 with 2300 miles on it? You must do more modding than riding. Hell I bought my 07 New Apr 2010 and it has 26,xxx mles on it.
I have a cruiser too, you'll miss the rush of a sportbike regardless of how you feel now :-). GL with the sale.
Man sorry to hear that bro. In all honesty, I'm glad they found what they wanted in the garage and didn't feel the need to go inside the house with your family there.
Yea, some of us (me) drop it while not even being on it or close to it, sigh! Damn improper trailer tie down procedure SMMFH. Now I use CGU-1B cargo straps. It ain't going nowhere now lol
Sorry about your luck, but don't sell your bike in the pretence of buying another will less power, because the less powered bike will still do 100mph. To protect your CDL you'll just have to stop making high risk choices, period.
I know, I know everybody with a sportbike speeds at one time or...
I'm almost and was told I don't have much more room for adjustment so i should replace chain and sprocket. Since it'll be parked for 9 months, I'll wait until I return to do that.
Before anyone asks, yes it's an 07 purchased new in 2010
R1 Price
Guys is a brand new 2012 R1 with Traction Control, CF AKROPOVIC exhaust, and fender eliminator worth about $14,454? These are all added at the dealer (I think)
Oooops this was supposed to be a new thread. Oh well!
