Seeing these pictures really has me anticipating my move - my wife and I are relocating to the Boulder area at the end of July. Hopefully the nicer weather will finally provide an opportunity for some additional seat time on the FZ!
I find it a little hard to believe that Ducati would be willing to release the Rossi Ducati GP10 test bike for sale already, if at all. I would imagine that there are a lot of prototype parts on that bike that are still in development and may be valuable to competitors.
I'm really starting to like the looks of standard height DB. I'm getting tired of the turbulance from the stock screen, especially when I have a passenger- it seems like I get this strange oscillating effect that throws my head side to side that I end up having to fight at times.
+1 on getting your suspension setup-- this should make a huge difference. When I had my '06 1000rr, the stock suspension settings were way off, but I didn't realize that until I had a suspension guy perform a baseline setup trackside. After that, the bike was like a scalpel!

If you want to do it right, you'll need to remove the spring. If you don't, besides not draining out all of the old oil and dirt, you cannot measure the correct fork oil height, which is critical to ensuring proper function of the forks.
Here are my current bikes. An '06 FZ1 and my '03 600rr trackbike. I'm hoping to change the colors on the 600rr before I take it on the track this season.
I loved my warrior. Plenty of power and attitude put together into a package that handles twisties surprisingly well (considering the fact that it is a cruiser). There are a lot of cool mods that you can do to these bikes to make them your own including an R1 front end conversion. The only...
+1 on the spartan leathers. I eventually plan to get a set of custom leathers and there are a couple of racers at the local track that wear spartan and can attest to thier durability. If you have a chance, go out to youtube (I would post a link, but youtube is blocked here at work), you can...
From what I have seen and read on racing/performance sportbike forums, 2bros quality just isn't up to par with manufacturers like Akro, Arrow, or Leo Vince. However, if you're purely into aesthetics and sound, this type of pipe may work for you. If you're looking for quality and performance...
I've read that someone was able to bend the shift rod to convert the stock rearets to GP shift, but it later ended up breaking from the stress. Unfortunately, there are only a couple of aftermarket rearsets that allow for GP shift (Lightech and Graves, I beleive) and they are both pricy.

The FZ needs a 19mm pin. Even with the pin that is specified for the bike, there will still be enough play to move the triples back and forth with out it being too loose on the pin. If its too loose, it may make it annoying or even difficult to manipulate parts of the front end as you are...
I have a vortex front stand that lifts the triples just like that one; it came with my track bike when I bought it and I was pleasently suprised to find that the pin also fit the FZ. I don't know the diameter off the top of my head because none of the additional pins that are sold are listed by...
I just installed a set of techspec gripsters this past weekend because I couldn't stand sliding around on the seat and not having any grip on the tank. They work great and are not as abrasive as stomp grips.
Despite the seemingly plush stock passenger seat on my '06 (compared to my 1000rr anyway), my passenger told me that the ride became painful after only about 30 minutes. So needless to say, I may be in the market for an aftermarket passenger seat.
What is the best seat out there for...
