    bought a clean 07 fz1

I had a Zerogravity touring screen on my bike and I have just gone back to stock. I get way less wind noise with the stock windshield.

    Anyone still here?

I'm still here. I'm from Canada though. Kind of like a Northern Australian.

    Bridgestone T31

I have a brand new set sitting in my basement. Purchased from FortNine for the same price as JEFFISTHENAME, except in CDN dollars. I looked for a better US price with plans to have them shipped to a friend in Missouri, where I would pick them up in June. I couldn't find a cheaper price than...

Coolant change questions on Gen II

Most guys are just pulling the lower hose off and leaving the drain plug alone. The drain plug is prone to snapping off and creating a whole bunch of work to get it out. The hose comes off easily with no risk of anything breaking.

    Bridgestone T30 EVO

I put a set of T30 EVO's on this past spring. I have about 12,000 kms on them now. Unfortunately, living on the prairies, I only get to ride in a straight line for long stretches at a time! The tires are certainly squaring up, both front and back. I have a long (7,000 km) trip scheduled for...

So Yamaha USA changed the FZ line to the MT line like in Europe.

MT designation will make it easier when I cross the Can/US border. In Canada, my bike is an F Zed. Once I cross the border it becomes an F Zee. :)

    Flash tune

Our goals are the same. I sent my ECU to Vcyclenut and am happy with the flash. The basic $80 flash cost $150 CDN by the time I paid shipping and exchange. I don't remember getting dinged by Customs

    Valve Check article

6 of 8 exhaust were tight. One shim was moved and I bought 5. All intakes were in spec. Somewhere over 40,000 kms/25,000 miles.

    Valve Check article

I did a valve adjustment on my Gen II last winter. Both will be similar. It's quite a daunting task to tackle, but I was able to go slow and carefully and successfully completed the job. I just kept telling myself i was saving $700 by doing the work myself. The only problem I had was when I...

Looking for luggage for yamaha fz1 fazer

I went with a SW-Motech set up on my '08. The side racks are quick disconnect, but I leave them on all the time. The top rack stays on permanently too. For side bags I bought Kappa 33's. Kappa is a lower line of the Givi 35's. They are good bags and I'm happy with mine. They are less...

    Gas Mileage

Don't bother calculating mileage when it's all in town riding. Every vehicle sucks in the city. Go for a highway run and check your mileage there. Pretty much all the mileage figures that guys are posting will be highway mileage.

    New MT10

So, off I went on Friday to the Yamaha Demo Days. When I get there I find out that the FZ-10 is off the ride list. Something about it being a pre-production model and not being able to obtain insurance for it! I got to look at it and sit on it but that was it. I did ride the FJ-09 which is...

    Cam Alignment Help

So, I dove into a valve check on my ’08. Adjusted 6 exhaust shims and went to put things back together. Being an idiot and not following instructions, I turned the crank without the cam chain tensioner in place and the chain jumped on the sprockets. I don’t want to face reality but I...

    fz1 fuel consumption

You must be much younger than I. MPG's, height and weight all in Imperial units for me.

    fz1 fuel consumption

My average highway mileage is 49.8 UK Mpg. This is what I go by since we have Imperial gallons in Canada. My US mileage works out to 41.5. Not too bad in my opinion.

Selling bike due to becoming a Parent?????

When we had our second child, of three, times were tough. I told my wife that the Seca wasn't worth much, so I stuck it in the shed...... for 10 years. Once money was less of an issue I reserected the Seca and rode it for another 8 years. Still have the Seca and now my son rides it.

Big Buddy Propane Radiant Heater Review

I've used mine several times while camping in the fall. I had problems with mine working properly until I took it apart and sprayed carb cleaner through all the tubes. There was some grease like material inside some of the tubes. Once clean, it works like a charm. I have mine hooked to a 20...
