A quick update. Just about six weeks now and the FZ is still not fixed after a new set of throttle bodies and a new ECU. I have now called Yamaha Corp. Time will tell?

Yamaha installed new throttle bodies and guess what? It did not cure the problem. Hopefully, Yamaha will install a new ECU soon, we shall see.

The area service Rep. called to inform me that they are going to replace the throttle bodies as soon as the part arrives from Japan. We shall see if this cures the problem?

My dealer said that he can reflash the ECU without sending the ECU back to Yamaha.

That is correct Dicko. ECU can only be reflashed to stock settings because of DOT Regs.

The FZ is going to the shop on Friday.

I Just recently noticed it. I have been getting a little more aggressive with the throttle now that I have about 483 miles on the FZ. By the way it seems to me that first gear is not restricted at all.

Called the dealer yesterday and this is what he said. He thinks that when the FZ is 2nd gear that the Ecu is still in 1st gear mapping and the Ecu will have to be reflashed.

It only happens in 2nd gear only and the bike has less then 1000 miles.
