Not doing anything for me. The new 1K Strom is quite nice. I sat on it at the AIM show and the bike is very comfy.

I think i red 270. Is this the same as the S10?
What gives the new MT-07 such a special character is its all-new 689cc inline 2-cylinder engine which has been developed using Yamaha’s ’crossplane philosophy’. With an uneven firing interval, the 270-degree crank gives a strong feeling of...
Understand what you mean. Go ride a FZ09... the numbers on paper doesn't make the bike justice. After you pop few gears you won't even care if this is the ugliest bike you ever rode... (depend on taste... bike look much better in person. Didn't use to like it on pictures either)
I didn't feel like the maps were horrible. Actually the stock map is right on it, just a bit lean. Once you get use to the sharp throttle its all right. But in map A the throttle is so aggressive on the bottom end that the lean condition on light decel when you just slow down at part throttle...
That was a little bit the point of my post above. I can't pin the throttle in the first 2 gears, and once the ECU reflash (detune in the first 3 gears) I might still power wheelie in 3rd also  By increasing the front preload and dropping the front 3/8" it's a bit better in second gear...
You should take the 09 for a spin one of these days. You might want to reconsider making it a 1100 or 1200cc. :jaw drop:
I honestly can't imagine that bike with an extra 300cc! That would be sick
Bike is amazing. The more I ride it the more I like it. The famous throttle itch is all gone with the fuel controller all tune now. Not sure how much power you actually need John. I can't pin the throttle until I get in 3rd gear! 1st gear the front come up at 1/3 throttle and 3/4 throttle in...
I never had the chance to ride a FZ1. But the bike is light and quite fast. Throttle itch it things of the past now that I tune it. Finalizing the tune and then dyno to double check all that. I did change few things to the design also... could get it the way I wanted.
Here you go... Still plenty of work to be done on the tune... but getting there. The bike is getting sick! Ah, the one wheeler thing was in a safe empty parking lot by the way...

Oh yes. I need to get the final numbers but its al least 10 lbs. That put the bike close to 400 lbs flat. FR are way lean but I should get a fuel controller sort out very soon... working on it!

Whoooo thats sexy. Buy it! Can't go wrong with this bike. I almost bought one just like this litely used.. miss the deal by a day or two.
End up getting the FZ09. Not a touring ride but has a lot of bottom end torque. In your case that FZ1 would be a netter choice.

The 9 is a blast to ride. Throttle is a bit twitchy because of the fuel cut off that is required to pass Euro pollution standard. It's all about throttle control in my opinion and the biggest is if you can't be smooth with the throttle with almost 50 ft.lb of torque at 2K RPM, pretty much right...
LOL I know. Castrol SRF is the best brake fluid money can buy. Most racecars use it... Glad I don't pay for it
I've been using Valvoline DOT4 drum brake fluid...
I know... the point was that there is no need to spend $95.00 on a quart of Castrol SRF when the cheap stuff from Autozone work just fine for the G.P. (general public)
Bleeding them more frequently is better than using expensive fluid. Im not a fan of silicone fluid...
