    Sub-throttle position sensor

That's one of them.... there is another one that you need to check and adjust first... if you never touched the adjustment screw for the max open adjustment, then don't touch it please. Be concerned with the other (minimum position) measurement first, and use the sensor to get your measurement...

    Sub-throttle position sensor

You don't need any tester.... You just need a caliper to measure the position of the throttle plate.... Just loosen the screws on the sensor and turn the key on... move the sensor until you get the required measurement between the throttle plate and the throttle body.... then re-tighten the...

which is richer 4 or 5 turns out on mixture screws?

TPS adjusts how much throttle is needed to access the timing map. Adjusting it with my method is the best when using one of my kits This bike has a TPS dependent timing map and it may also have gear position dependent timing as well.... maybe one of these days I'll hack one of these Gen1...

    Sub-throttle position sensor

The noise you are hearing is the motor trying to drive the subs more than the linkage will allow.... you need to adjust this before you damage the motor. Please get the pages from the service manual and follow them before you damage something. Ivan

    Ecu

Code 19 is the sidestand switch most likely an open circuit... It is possible to have a bad relay/diode box too... you need to test the switch connections/wiring, and the switch itself with an ohm meter... wiggle the wires and connections and watch the meter... this kind of stuff is pretty...

    2014 Yamaha FZ9!

If that's the replacement for the FZ1, they can keep that pile !! Looks like cheap crap... You guys need to stop with the Honda philosophy before you really end upon the bottom of the sales pile. This bike needs to be an 1100 5valve or 4 valve with a conventional crank and throttle cables...

    getting an odd stumble

Gotta make sure you get a 12.5mm reading first.... this ensures that you are measuring correctly. Call me at the shop if you continue to have problems. Ivan

Probably too much fuel in the bowls... Ivan

    Ivan's Reflash?

The date on the newest and best (in my opinion) is 9-6 The changes are in the 2% column (for smoothness) and 40% and larger below 6000... a little added fuel at full throttle in the power peak Just make sure it's pointed straight when you get on it the first few times...

    Ivan's Reflash?

If anyone (who has my flash) wants it, just e-mail me on the e-mail that sent you the original map. Please specify if you have a stock or modded airbox, and whether it's for a pc3 or pc5. Ivan

    2014 Yamaha FZ9!

Sounds like a Honda V4... like an old school interceptor :frown: I'll take a shrieking inline 4 w/ conventional firing order any day over that. Yamaha always makes something innovative that others won't bother with...just to prove that they can. I give them lots of credit for that. Ivan

    2014 Yamaha FZ9!

Crossplane engine sucks compared to this one... Lots more vibration below 5000 rpm too It makes 10 hp less than a 2004 R1 in the midrange... do I need to post a dyno chart? I think they should keep the current engine and the throttle cables.... just make appearance and chassis updates...

    Major Engine Failure

Great diagnosis !! I would change the oil and filter immediately if it was mine. Some people are just brutal and unforgiving and very quick to point fingers at things they know very little about. DJ's fuel controllers are great quality with a very low failure rate... and they are...

    2014 Yamaha FZ9!

Your FZ6 only put out 45 lb/ft of torque or so.... This bike will probably be in the 65-70 range... combine that with lightweight and it will easily lift the front wheel probably in 2nd gear with throttle alone. With only 110-120hp (piped and tuned), it won't come close to the FZ1 in a straight...

    Ivan's Reflash?

The reason that I choose to do the fuel with a piggyback is that it is very easy to make adjustments by anyone if needed. If anyone has a problem and there is no piggyback, it becomes very difficult for the bike owner to make any changes without either mailing the ecu away or revisiting the...

    Ivan's Reflash?

635 is too much... Make sure that your idle speed is correct and all the temps, fast idle, sync is done first.... lets not make any of this confusing. My post on the FZ1OA is very clear, please re-read it if you need to. :) If you want to copy it here, you may, but it must be pinned and...

    Scorpion full exaust

Akrapovic was called "Skorpion" in the 90's... Then a UK company appeared and called themselves "Scorpion"... Mr Akrapovic then changed the name of his company to his own name "Akrapovic" because this would always be a source of confusion. He still kept the Skorpion logo. The UK company...
