I herd at my favourite Yamaha shop in Auckland that there is a new model FZ1 for 2012 with a crossplane motor. Does anyone know this is true? Yamaha New Zealand is only bringing in 800s now but we can order a 1000 if needed.

Hi Stuuk1, Your new bike has alot of the mods that turn an FZ1 into a more spectacular bike like full fairing, racing resets and nice racing muffler, shes nice.

HI PapaGeno21, Good on you, I want a Yamaha belly pan too for my 07 Fazer. The belly pan is an essential body mod for every FZ1. My next mod is the Goodridge "race routed" brake line kit on the US Yamaha FZ1 site.

Just did my 11000km service with oil change and Yamaha filter with a new o-ring on my GYTR billet oil cap and new safety tie wire. I use Castrol 10/40 Magnatec oil.

Hi SETH46, 95/96 octane here is called Super. I think that equals US 89 octane and our regular 91 equals US 87 octane. I wont run my Fazer on regular here in Auckland and like how how it goes on 98= US93.:rmwl:

I believe your 93= our 98 octane and I cant see anyone getting 150BHP on the rear wheel with regular.

I use 10/40 now in my Gen11 07SV Fazer after 20/50 runing in oil to 6000km for the ceramic bore. At 11400km now got new filter&oil next few days service at home.

I only run 98 octane, the FZ1 has 11.5/1 compression (high) and runing 87 will damage your plugs with preignition. I got preignition with 91 here in New Zealand. 98 runs good with my mods and gives more power in mid range with smoother runing. Other people on the forum have said you must be on...
