Heavier guys... tell me what you did to your suspension?

My guy at the shop said it would not be a good idea to mod up the stock shock or that it couldn't been done. I don't remember but it was not made in a way that was allowed for being rebuilt.

    2014 BMW S1000R -- Tuono Competition

Would you be willing to spend that kind of money on a Japanese bike? Because to get that level of bike you have to put that kind of money in. Basically how you appear to have taken your Fz1 base and modded it up close to the level of those bikes. Well if you'd add the Brembo brakes, and...

Why I will never be a Ducati owner

Well my first crash involved me losing traction on cinder/gravel, almost getting high sided and barely keeping it on the foot wide shoulder till a bush grabbed the forks and brought me to an abrupt stop. I held on to the left bar for dear life as I was looking out at a 100 foot drop off with...

Heavier guys... tell me what you did to your suspension?

Check out Race Tech Suspension or RT - Digital Product Search for a Gen II, then click on the calculate the spring rate link in yellow to put your own info in. I have not done the upgrades yet, but after talking to the guy in my shop about the rear spring/shock it would be best to ditch it...

    Going to a R1?

To explain what may be happening may take a few paragraphs so bear with me. You have let's say 5 main segments to address when talking about ergonomics; Legs, Pelvis, Spine, Arms (shoulders) and Head. Legs The legs are the base of your riding position. However you can have your leg...

Why should I buy an FZ1?

There are some consistent changes I've seen for all brands of motorcycles that I've been researching. For perspective I come at things from a 6'4", 240lb male point of view. You know the thing about the suspension is that unless you're about 5'6-5'10 and 145-165 pounds no matter what bike...

Why should I buy an FZ1?

Pull out $30 and go to a shop and have them set up your suspension. Then you'll have $1970 left to throw in new fork springs, rear shock, slip on and PCV. Ohhh and since you got the bike for around 10k brand new (or if you're smart and get a 2 or 3 year old bike for $6k that some guy bought...

    Track to myself!

You were super smooth, very nice riding+. Just a question because I still haven't got a track day in yet, but why keep the rpms down in that 5000-7500 range? Again, I don't know what it actually takes but if you're going fast on a track, why not keep the RPMs between 7000-11000 where all...

How often do you change Air Filter?

Just curious how often it is people are changing their air filter? My shop tech told me every 8,000 miles. I thought the Fz1 service manual said 12,000 miles and I'm sure some people do it longer or shorter (K&N cleaners). What are any advantages/disadvantages to any which way? I...
