I found tapered roller bearings to be smoother and providing a better feel. Yamaha is also uses a sketchy seal in that area, prone to rusting. If you have it apart you may as well replace them.

At second look the header needs to move to one side or the other so it doesn't get smooched.

Sounds like a great combo to me. I found that after my flash there were only a couple of points of tuning, here and there, on the fuel map. Minimal at best. Again I'm curious to hear what you learn as there is no one answer.

The map that comes with the bike '06 - '13 or so, is terrible. A proper tune, preferably flash makes a world of difference. Both in total performance and response.
