Bought another bike for the Wifey!

Dirt Fun Dirt bikes are so much fun. I would already have one if not for 2 things; money and a way to get it where needed. Despite that as soon as my buddy gets his KTM 300, he is selling me his XR250. When I go out my other buddy with his pick-up will pick me up. It limits riding to groups...

New Shoe Last night I changed out the front tire. I love changing 21" 90/90 tires! So easy! New Continental TKC 80. On with the new, off with the old.

The Quest Continues Another night and a couple of easy jobs. I didn't have a new copper crush washer for the bleed screw on the waterpump so I anealed the old one so I could reuse it. heat it red hot, let cool and re-use. I finished adding the fluids, and "burped" the coolant system to get...

She's a beauty! I always liked those NightHawk S machines (750's up here). They still look sexy even by today's standards.

Well, I try. I guess I better use soft focus when I post pictures of my front wheel with the new tire on it. The rims are a bit beat up from off road play. One of these years I'll probably strip it down to the frame and really do a restore, paint and all. I'll wait until she hits 200,000 K. By...

And I've got 9, but neither of us have to worry. I think the threshold is 40, before you would need to get a MUCH bigger helmet. The mechanic at work has 78!! Last night I refreshed my heat-shields on the tanks. Just the valves and reassembly and fluids to go now. I'll start the valve check...

Despite a remarkably mild winter in these parts, time (a good subtitute for patience) to wrench is not something I'm lacking. My garage is heated by a 1.6 liter supercharged radiant heater (When I get home from work with the Mini ;) ) which takes about 15 minutes to get it to room temperature...

Thanks Billy, just trying to keep the old girl up to your standards. You set the bar high. I was happy to see no sign of corrosion on any of my electrics. The Rectifier plug was a horrid mess with all the dirt mixed into the dielectric grease, but i took it apart, cleaned it with kerosene, then...

Annual Service Time Last Weekend I started on the annual service. It starts with the tear-down and cleaning. Electrics disassembled, cleaned, greased (dielectric) and reassembled. A few things re-routed for efficiency. Battery removed, cleaned, connections cleaned , greased and...

Well Dustin, that is Alberta sand. The stuff after we pull all the oil out of it. With all that hot dirty stuff removed, it gets cold and slippery. ;)
