What do you know of my miles? Outside of the last two years due to renovations, moving and work, I've averaged 11k miles on every bike in our short New England seasons. This time next week, I'm in TX with one season.

First, nice ride Brad! Second, I agree with Dustin. While the FZ-09 (among other FZ#) is a great bike, Yamaha does not have a lot going for it in terms of high-end parts. Yamaha tends to put in "adequate" parts so lower the price point and sell more bikes. That leaves us to buy the tricks...

Latest update: I got a text from the agent this morning... the closing has been moved.... moved UP to Monday, Feb 22nd! Looks like I'll be in TX a few days earlier! I should be there before Michele's birthday now! Yeah, I'm excited!

If I were to guess, I'd look at the stator. Could be the seal at the stator cover went bad and allowed moisture into that area and it is hindering the bike's ability to generate electrical power which would explain the battery not charging, especially a new battery. Here's the items on...

I do... I tried the 16T front and it did not provide me with any wow-factor. I guess my riding style does not lend well to that gearing? It sure did make launches off the line a lot more fun, but I'm not that sort of rider. :D

I switched to a 55 and will not go back to a 50 either. I love the way the bike falls into the corners now and I removed the speedoDRD as it is no longer needed. The 55 puts the speedo close enough to actual speed that no correction is needed.
