Where are the FZ1 Girls ?

Another one from my trip, this was last weekend. There really is a light house in all the mist...

This is from the ride I was able to sneak in two weeks ago...

    FZ1 Logo stickers

Gonna give that a try with some helmet decals that I bought...Navigation Star for my matte black helmet, if you're curious.

    Back to life...

Sigh. Still waiting to do that with mine...

    The Weather

Not parkin' it yet, but two weeks of rain and wet leaves make for a bit of a layoff. Now, to ride before they throw the gravel down for the snow/ice...

    Is the FZ1 for me?

I have been moving in the direction of switching from cruiser (V*1300) to the FZ1. I really like the FZ1, and don't much do any dirt riding. More power than I'll ever use (I have the "fraidy cat" gene) but it is a hoot to ride. I am looking to add some Givi bags for traveling...I don't pack...

Where are the FZ1 Girls ?

Coupla Trips So, kind of an update... From Sept 10-18 we went on a trip. 1560 miles from Eugene,OR up to Joseph, OR, took a jet boat trip on the Snake River, and hiked around the John Day fossil beds. Then, from Oct. 13 -18 we put 1700 miles on the bikes riding to Yosemite, up to Walker...

Is October too late to ride from GA to WA?

Take the ticket now and the epic ride next spring! October weather is iffy in the northwest...it can be amazing, and it can be awful. Get a good visit in with your friend (rent a bike for a day if you must) and enjoy your time with her.

    Oregon Green Roads

Thanks, OS. Between abdominal surgery (me) a torn meniscus (my partner) a work injury (me) and a horrid performance schedule (me + three bands) the riding was limited. I am delighted to get out and ride.

    Oregon Green Roads

Had some early autumn sunshine and took a ride from Eugene over Smith Creek Rd. to the coast, back on Hwy 36. The combination of damp weather (it IS Oregon, after all) and lack of sun led to some slick conditions that a friend of mine calls "green roads". And, a relatively dry summer...

    Study Finds Us Older Riders

There is a saying, about experience, in one of my hobbies (umpiring, if you're curious) that goes about like this: You can have 10 years of experience, or you can have one year of experience 10 times.

    Study Finds Us Older Riders

I have seen variations on this. I suspect that a lot of (us, I admit it) older riders who have started riding fairly recently (me, I admit it) come in for more than our share of crash stats...BUT I have also seen numbers that say there are younger 1st time riders that represent a higher...

    Excuses

I do have trouble writing tickets to motorcyclists, unless they do really stupid things in front of me. Sidebar: Our dept. just went to mals; our senior handler is one of my recruits, and Zeto is an amazing dog. Deploys out of our bird and out of the marine patrol boats.

    Major moto crash in Phoenix

Such a loss. We had a hit and run involving a mc this past weekend; driver and passenger injured. Calculated risk, yes. Thoughts and prayers to those in Phoenix.

Where are the FZ1 Girls ?

Set a record high temp on Friday, and had 2 hours of daylight after work. Got in about a 70 mile ride, just local roads, but WHAT FUN!!! Rain again today, but it is looking good for later in the week.

    Your Rider Resume

Aways wanted to ride, never had friends/family that did. When I was 45, my mother-in-law died at the age of 61 with WAY too many of her life's ambitions undone, and we decided to learn to ride, and not have "always wanted to." Took the MSF course in 2003, and bought an 86 Honda Shadow 500, and...
