I have a nicad, rechargable battery jacket and gloves that I use, and they extend the riding season nicely. Waterproof is also pretty important in the Pacific Northwet...er west. I have friends with the plug in gear, and they all love it, Harley/Beemer/Sportbike riders all included in that mix.

Nice pics, and you're braver than I am, heading out on the dirt. I'll bet the proper equipment makes a huge difference for you. Love the colors; we're just starting to get some hint of color change. Be a month before we get good colors.

I'm in Eugene, OR, and will let you know if and when we make a run for the volcanoes. There's a group of FJR riders in Washington that does that every year, too.

I don't know; I suspect that it is. She was in the "fast" group and I was in the "rebel" group and I never got much of a chance to talk to her. She did have cool gear, though...

My last road trip. 26 women on every type of bike.

Just got back from a 1350 mile trip over 5 days. Day one (400ish) and Day five (360ish) were slab days, mostly. The other days were all 8 hour ride days with lots of puttering, stopping, a u-turn clinic as we kept finding "paved" gravel roads or closed roads, and eating. That is my longest...

Just got back from a 1400 mile weekend plus with 26 other women motorcyclists. I had the only FZ1, although there was an FZ6 on the ride. At one stop, I counted 13 bikes, and each was different. Goldwing to Gladius, SV600 to KS1200, FJR to GS650. Pics will follow on a ride report.

You might want to hit some of the parks on the continental divide; Yellowstone, Grand Tetons. There are some spectacular motorcycle roads in Colorado...

425 miles is tops for me (at least so far). I do take time to stop and get off the bike about every hour or two. Camelback is great in the summer. I have a full face helmet and a taller windscreen, which helps some, I think.

I am working on the 12/13th and just burned up a lot of good will taking some training time, so I won't see you on the coast. Wave to the east when you get south of Florence, and I'll wave back from Creswell!!
