PC5 map

I have a 07 fz1 and looking for a tune thats better than the one i have. I have a power commander 5 bought it with the bike. Just seems like it could have more output than what it does. Does anyone have any maps that has better output or point me in the right direction to who can help? Its a 07 with a yoshimura trc slip on other than that its stock.

I feel bad for you, it's been a couple of weeks and no replies.

There are a number of tunes available (usually) on the Dynojet website. I'd start with downloading those.

I will say this, though.. back in the day my '06 made 139rwhp on the same dyno as the shop owner's '06 made 127rwhp. The difference between his bike and mine was a slip-on exhaust Vs. full monty Ivan's set up (FCE, throttle plates, tune, etc). So you're right, it could make more, but I'd start with opening the airbox.

Most of us ditch the PC3 or PC5 and get a flash from Ivan or vcyclenut. You will get the most out of the bike if you make one of these choices.

My understanding is that Ivan's flash doesn't alter fuel mapping, as he recommends a PC3/5 for that. That's what it was when I did mine years ago. Someone chime in if this is no longer the case.
This allows you to load different fuel maps depending on what mods you have.

That's old news. Ivan's doesn't require a PCV.

You still could fit one to fine tune for local conditions, though. But you could mess with the rideability. I'm keeping an open mind and may opt for a PCV if I feel like there could be more to be had.

These guys tune for US fuel, and so when they do the Aussie bikes there's got to be some assumptions made for our shitty fuel quality. The Buell FI guy told us he wouldn't even use our fuel as a weed killer, so we know the Americans get it better. I'm betting the default is to add more fuel everywhere to compensate.

Having said all that, I had Ivan's original (circa 2007) power commander map, and my tuner couldn't get any more power out of my bike. He did get me a little more fuel economy, though.
