Should I flash my ECU?

Before you spend money on a Power commander, EXUP error codes and block off plates think about a ECU flash from Ivans. The things Ivan has done with his ECU flash is unreal. Things included in the flash are:
Radiator fan now comes on 189 degrees
Throttle response is noticeably much better
No more backfires on decelerating
Remove your EXUP illuminates error codes
No error codes.

Flash allows you to take full advantage of your add ons
Check out Ivans website for all the details
Follow the 2 steps prior to shipping ECU. They were easy to do. Total turn around time was about a week.

This the best thing I've done to my FZ1. You can feel the difference immediately.
THANK YOU IVAN

Ivan is on vacation for the rest of the summer, so it says on his website.

I got the Vcyclenut Flash, hoping to get it back this weekend.

Just bought the bike one week ago today. Ordered the new rotor, a windshield, a Yoshimura slip on, and the ECU flash. I know what I’ll be doing this weekend. Ha!
Looking forward to no more throttle lag.

Like a different bike with Vcyclenut flash, be careful at first the bottom end will yank the front hoop:)

Vcyclenut has the same day turn around with his deal...He ships it back out the same day he gets it..He is based in FL. and I live in Fl so I got my ECU back in 2 days...

I sent mine for dyno+flash locally. whole engine runs cooler, slow traffic ~90, highway 84(night) 85(day) fan on at 95 / off at 90. modded airbox/ais+exup removed/slip on. super responsive. significant increase of km/ltr. tropical country (28-32C).

Anyone know Ivan's surname? The Australian customs paperwork won't let me progress it unless I put a surname in. I don't really want to insert something dodgey lest a border security officer with no sense of humor decides to take it the wrong way. Ivan's on holidays, and not answering his phone. I'm hoping to get this ECU shipped off 4 day express to arrive on the 6th. Happy for someone that knows to PM me.

EDIT: Disregard. I found it on Buzzfile.

I'm intending sending mine over from Ireland once Ivan returns..

I see you using express - does he not just want snail mail USPS?
Also any concerns re customs duties or anything like that?

Sent mine off 2nd Sep, via Austpost express, which should translate to USPS express. The next faster option was Austpost courier, which I think is what he would reject because Austpost sub-contract those out and likely lose control over the shipment method. Other options were going to take from 2 weeks to 2 months.

I completed the customs paperwork online with Austpost, and it was pretty straightforward, but there is a special HS code for items for repair, important I guess if you don't want Ivan to have to pay import duty on your ECU. I found this in an article aimed at US companies:

U.S. companies importing items to be repaired from a foreign buyer should instruct their customers to use HS number
9801.00.1012 on their shipping documentation. After the U.S. company repairs the item and is ready to re-export, it
should use Schedule B number 9801.10.0000.

So....did you get ECU back?

Any updates?

I intend sending mine off as soon as I pull it out from under airbox..

Hows the power, throttle, responsiveness, economy.
I only have about 60km on it, so can't comment on economy.
The rest are pretty subjective, and having had the full Monty Ivan's setup on my '06 back then, it's exactly what I expected it to be. Most importantly, the fuel cut is gone.

If I was to try to describe it, smooth and predictable, and I can see this thing is going to be easy to ride quickly. I've owned two other FZ1's, and my last two bikes were tuned R1's, so my bar might be different to yours.

Ivan's flash is like night and day for me, I can't believe I didn't Do It years ago. It is so smooth and easy to ride now, and I'm getting 10 miles per gallon more than I was.

Hiya, I'm finally almost ready to send my ECU off to Ivan.

I'm in Ireland so just going to use Irish Post Express service..That HS customs number is great to have .

Couple of questions:

What code does Ivan then use to post back to you to ensure no duty on your end upon receipt?
Do you pay Ivan xtra up front for return potage?

TIA

I can't remember what code he used, but it passed Aussie customs no drama, and arrived at my door with nothing else to pay. He does this a lot, so I expect he has the paperwork well figured out.

The PayPal invoice he sent included return postage. I think I looked at the USPS postage prices, and a currency exchange before I decided to send it off to make sure I didn't have any bill shock... the invoice he sent was in USD, but the AUD transaction on my card was within a couple of dollars of my estimate.
