Riding issues

Hi, new here at the forum and have tried to find some info about rider height re FZ-1 everywhere without any good result.
I´m 6"2, 34 inseam just under 100lbs. Sat on a FJR 1300 the other day, and fitted perfect, and the guy said the FZ-1 is pretty similar. That could be great, but not really interested in the huge bike segment just yet.

At the time the closest to test a FZ-1 is a 2 hour drive, and in scandinavia we do have alot of snow, so I thought I asked here before taking a hell-trip ;)
To me, 50+, the FZ-1 seems to be a perfect ride on the paper, (I also have an old ZX9R (-98) which I sit quite alright on, but not so good allrounder.) but looking at Motorcycle Ergonomicscycle (ergo.com), I look a bit like Popeye on a baby tricycle.
So if you tall riders could give me a little feedback, pictures if you have, it will sure be alot easier to decide.
Thanks
//Chris

As a shorter rider I can give you my take on the first gen FZ1.

I am 5'10" and have a 30 inch inseam. When sitting on my bike I can get both feet down on the pads of my feet. I cannot get the heel down unless I pick up one foot (some would argue one should never put both feet down when stopping in traffic so you can keep the rear brake engaged - to hold the bike steady and to keep the rear brake light active).

My wife has a 34inch inseam and can straddle the bike with both feet fully flat on the ground. She is right about 6" tall and sits in a very comfortable riding position, though she does not ride, just test fitted it once.

I think you would be comfortable on an FZ1.

I am 6'2", 34 inseam and 205lb. I find the FZ fits quite well. For rides longer than an hour it would be nice to have highway pegs. Having had a R1200RT and KLR the biggest things I miss are the storage and windscreen.

I have never used that Ergo site before, but I don't think I look like that tan man on the FZ. Ridding position looks correct but my knees do not go that far up. It seems that tan man is overly thick.

Hi and Thanks for the reply!
I did try the Honda CB1000R and the riding position for me was pretty awful.
Now, being away from bikes for a long time, but still enjoy somewhat sport driving, the fz1 seems like one of the best choises.
As I said, I can fit very nice on my zx9r, all though its a much sporter bike, I havent read anywhere that riders of my size have issues with the fz1.
My pulse rises just by watching the damn thing
Thanks again for your input!

The positioning is going to be way more comfortable and different from the CBR.

I'm only 5'10" but find the bike very very comfortable.

I had a friend sit on the bike - he is 6'3" and had no issues with the ergonomics of the bike.

IMO - this bike is built for taller riders in mind for some reason.
