I believe that Ballmead is right about your fuel line being linked. But it also does not sound right for the secondary flies to not cycle open and closed upon turning the ignition on. Possibly check for trouble codes.
The only problem you should have at 7,000 RPM is your arms pulling out of...
There were no cracks anywhere. It appeared that the rubber compound had changed at the very center of the tire, as it reached the end of its life. I expect that they use a slightly different compound to coat the cord. I imagine it serves as a boundry layer, very thin, to help the wearable...
I just replaced my rear RoadSmart II, which I have had since it was new. Mileage was 14, 535. I was very pleased with the traction in the dry, and in the rain, it was good until about the last 500 miles. Steel cord was just beginning to peak through. Now I have mounted a new front RoadSmart...
Sorry, but I do not have experience with this exact unit. I have installed the bi-zenon HID setup in my 2008 FZ1. These have the mechanically movable element when switched from low to high and back. I chose the 6000K color.
No doubt, the lights are very bright. They are probably a big...
The stock fuel mixture is programmed on the lean side, in order to meet emissions requirements. In fact it is just on the verge of, but not quite so lean that the bike would surge or run so lean that it would be noticeable in normal riding.
The slip-on creates less back pressure. This means...
Morgstang:
Wow! You are a parts hoarder. You scared me for a moment - I was afraid something happened to your beautiful 2009 Where are you storing all this stuff?

This guy will give you a fair deal. Honest and straight forward. I have had several dealings with him, and he is a...
This is just my opinion, but if you can get rid of those baby puke greenish gold 2009 wheels, and replace with the true gold colored wheels from a 2008 or 2010, or perhaps other years, it will look much better. Then a metallic blue trim strip would look good. Just my $0.02.
I am using a Power Commander V on my 2008 FZ1. I do not have Autotune, but I am running two different programs with a switch. My bike is basically stock, except for a slightly modified air box. The performance program is one that was supplied by Dynojet. It both adds and subtracts fuel...
Most of you guys have a long wait until you can ride when you are 70 years old. I am very fortunate. I only have 137 more days to wait. Holy crap that is disturbing.
Here in Houston they have these illuminated "silver" alert signs on the freeway. "Missing elderly man", driving a 1987 Ford...
Be sure you have the rear portion of the seat as low as possible when trying to insert the front tab. Perhaps use a small file to deburr the lower rear edge of the metal tab that is behind the tank. Make it slightly rounded. Clean off any filings and then put a dab of grease on the under side...

"I think half of what we will be moving is her sewing stuff! You know those 50 gal tote/storage bins? She has 13 of those full of only fabric, three machines, one serger, an embroidery machine with 6 different size hoops, 3 more bins full of notions, two Ott lights, a large...
Brad:
After reading this post, I had to go out to the garage, unscrew one of the bar weights to verify that my red FZ1 had the fishing weights and the silicon. For a moment I thought I might have done that treatment to the blue bike. Ha, ha. Hope to see you sometime at one of the meets. I...
With the stock muffler, you have to concentrate on the sound to tell any difference at all. Sounds just a touch deeper. It is very subtle, and would not be noticed.
Not sure how much difference would be noticed with a slip-on. Probably a little more noticeable.
I wonder if your FZ1 has LOWERING LINKS in the suspension or something? That would make it much harder.
As others have said, I do the following:
1. With the bike on the side stand, and on level concrete, I grip the left handlebar with my left hand.
2. With my right hand - I grip the front...
