Agreed,
Pictures don't do these machines justice and they are waaaaaayyy more sexy in the metal/plastic. Be nice to finally have the crossplaned engine on an FZ1.
If you can't find them in the States, you can always come up and grab a Canadian one. Our FZ1 is completely gone now.
30 seconds, is how long I let any engine warm, if it's warmer out, I might let that slip to 10 seconds in my truck
Bike sees 30 seconds of prewarm before I even think of blipping the throttle, first start of the day, regardless of weather. If I've been riding, then the key in, on, and go...
So,
thought I'd take my carbs apart as my machine has sat for 2 years, good thing I did take them apart, will also help with putting in the de-anti-smog kit and the valve job and all the electrical warmth I'm putting on.
I've never seen motorcycle carburetors that have engine coolant running...
Definitely side stand switch I would think as old school stated. Perhaps it's not switch itself persay but something to do with that circuit for sure. Break out your electric manual!
You'll know your valves need to be adjusted FOR sure when it becomes hard to start. Yamaha's five-valve heads are notorious for tightening up rather than loosing up, at which point, your engine will become increasingly harder to start in the cold. If it's a hard starter, then for sure they're...
Thanks much sir,
I was hoping to use more of a budget company tire as I'd likely only use these very few times, something from, (dare I say) Kenda? I did have a look but close to stock sizes(understandably so) were definitely waaaaay different. What sizes have others, or yourself, used...
Well,
Many may think this an odd question, however, has anyone ever spooned a set of knobbies on their FZ-1 so they could go ride in the dirt, or ice. Please let me know, what kind of tires, what kind of clearances did you have, did you have to relocate or remove fenders and what not...
Can you throw up a pic of them? If you'd prefer to just send it to me by email just pm me your email address and I'll email you mine. Dude I've got no worries payin' 18Aussie dollars, fact I'd even give you 23 if you'd like, providing they're nice'n'just what I want?
Heck Yeah brother for sure!
If I can help you to get rid of them I'd do that for sure. My postal code in Edmonton AB, Canada is T6E 1A7. If you need more than that to figure out what shipping would be, just let me know and I'll pm you my address. 20mm should do quite nicely I reckon...
LooseNut,
Thanks very much, very useful post!
Devilsyam,
You make some do you? I just want to raise myself up ... .....uhhhh.... I think 'bout a half inch would do. But I don't know what length stock bones are to let you know what I'd like, any recommendations given a want to be 1/2...
