With the PCFC, you can adjust the fuel mixture even in closed loop mode. It's odd that it isn't mentioned in the on-line manual, but it is in the paper copy that was included with my PCFC. I wonder if it's an EPA thing? I scanned the very last page of the paper PCFC manual, for info...

As an alternate solution, you could get the basic flash from Vcyclenut so the fan comes on at 205F, correct your speedometer, remove any restrictions and smooth out the throttle 'snatch'...
