I got a wild hair to have a sport bike. Undeniable, it might as well have been a message from a burning bush to me. probably mid-life crisis really... :)
So I went and test rode cbr600rr's, cbr1000rr's, and a gixxer600, I was really close to buying a cbr1000rr, and then I discovered the Fz1 on...
After riding a twisty road yesterday I kind of want to lower my bars also. Not totally sure yet, but at times I thought it would be nicer.
It looks like Suburban Machinery no longer makes the FZ1 bars.
I love mine, 08' Red with gold rims, but the white and red retro is my top favorite. (also love the yellow and black retro) Awesome bike man!
These pics are bike porn to me. Yes, I need help. :)
Awesome, great way to make time fly for sure :)
I went for an hour ride around Horsetooth lake, just got back. Felt like about maybe 20 minutes I'd say. Nice curvy road, but low speed limits, holy crap its hard to stay in the speed limit. Not that I exactly did, but even keeping it reasonably...
I know this is old but thanks for the "mrcycles" tip, my used FZ1 came with no rear passenger pegs. (mounts are there, but pegs and hardware missing) I priced all the parts at a dealer yesterday, was about 87.00 or so for all the stuff. From mrcycles it was about 57.00 including 10.00 shipping.
I'm 6'3 and the same weight as you. My Fz1 tows my hugeness around just fine. :-) I also rode a Cbr1000rr and a cbr600rr before I bought, and liked them too actually but the fz1 is way more comfortable. Take a test ride if you can, but I love mine and am a very similar case. :-)
Put 30 miles on it. Finally got a nice day in Colorado, it was windy and I was busy with stuff, but I got 30 miles in at least. Was a blast. Taking it to work tomorrow if the weather holds. It's really blowing outside, not sure what's up. Afraid to look. :)
