Vista
If you can afford it, switch to Win 7. It is MUCH better. I usually don't like to index things and better off just putting data you want to share across the network in a shared folder. I have been testing it for a few months and it is the best windows to date. I had actually bought...
Power
Thanks Hellgate for the info! I will agree with the tuner as the quality of the air charge has more to do with power increases than flow. Look at those hot rods with the "ram air". With a cowl induction that pulls in cool-dense-oxygen rich air from the base of the windshield, you have...
Mods and Dyno
Has anyone out there done a full analysis of each mod (airbox, cat gut, slip on)? I mean, air box then dyno, then slip on then dyno, then cat gut then dynothen PCIII and dyno. If this were done, along with an exhaust analysis, a clear picture would be present of all mods and...
Good Evening All! Here are a few pics of the mods so far. Thanks to all in various threads with advice. Thanks to Crazybiker and Old Rice for the parts!
I thought of just attaching the pegs directly to the guards by drilling the hole through. As long as it is done on a drill press and...
Zg-st
At 102:Rockon:, just had to get past a semi quickly on a two-lane, it was pretty stable. I sit rather tall at 6' and have wide shoulders, so I still get some wind, but it is much better than stock. An MRA Spoiler might be the trick for the long rides and is on my list of mods. :)
Ok guys and gals, which of engine guards do you prefer for the Gen II; The Givi or the SW-Motech? I have an '09. All responses and advice is greatly appreciated. I plan on installing highway pegs. Thanks in advance!
Tested the ZG ST
Got it in and of course had to put it on immediately and go for a ride. I does cut the airflow to the body and airflow hits the top of my helmet. Stable through 80 mph with a head wind. Still thinking of adding an MRA spoiler for the long rides, though.
Should work!
Looks good! I have a painter who is pretty good at matching and will be checking with him this week. I don't know how the finish will turn out, though. It is has quite a few dimples on the top. Maybe just flat blue match or black? It would take quite a bit of work to smooth it...
Holes?
Where did you try the holes? The place I put them, with the current bar setup, place it about 1 inch from my back, which allows for the backpad later. With bar backs and highway pegs, I should be able to get just the relief I am looking for. But, if I need to change it, I can just...
Vinyl on!
Here are a few pics with the vinyl on. I put some spacers on the front to level it out a little. I plan on getting some matching paint soon and order an FZ1 logo to put on the top. A good vinyl back rest should make it quite comfortable for the long ride. More mods to come!
