Don't it's the plugs , replaced them this year. The thing that really baffles me is my inability to put the bike in neutral when it occurs, if it's purely an electrical issue then I can't see this affecting a mechanical system like the gearbox and selecto

Hey guys , I have a GEN-1 2003 model and I have experienced a mystery shutdown twice now and it's quite scary when it happens. This is what happens, the engine loses power and will not rev up and will go to a weak unstable idle until it shuts off. When it does this the neutral can not be found...
Hello fellow Newfie! I am out in Calgary and have a gen1 FZ1. The bike is a blast! I rode mine long distances with ease. I consider it a modern day Nighthawk S. Comfy ,smooth and powerful you will not need another steed.
For a cheap but effective repair remove the cowl and JB weld it from behind. It's a good idea to use a reinforcing web and several coats of JB to strengthen the bond. Fill the hairline fracture on the shiny side with touch up paint and buff it good, it will be barley noticeable and save you $.

It would need to be connected to the key switch in case they are left on it will drain the battery, I thought the starter wiring might be a good choice given the higher amp rating of this wire.
Hello Guys:
I just picked up some heated grips. Has anyone installed these before? I want to know the best wire to tap in to for the higher current draw. Please advise I have the GEN 1 machine.
