There used to be a way to use the 99 R1 gauge cluster so you have a digital speed with analog tach. It was mostly plug and play, just needed to get an R1 fuel sensor and flip one wire. Its far from "modern" but its an option...

Has anyone ever turbocharged a Gen 1? I would love a fun project like smacking a turbo on my 04 FZ1, but I havn't seen anyone do it before. People have done it to their 1999/2000 R1 which has almost the same engine so its possible. I just don't know how much boost a gen 1 can handle. If anyone...

update: I took it for a short ride and brought it back to try and work some of the seafoam through it. It now doesn't want to start again and will sprinkle gas out of the overflow tubes. I'm guessing this would probably be another case of the FZ1 bad carb O-ring?

I turned my 04 off today and when the crank stopped turning it sounded like it made a squeak, I am able to replicate it by turning over the engine but not starting it and when it finishes its rotation, it squeaks. I don't know if it's something I never noticed before or if i should be concerned.
