I just use a simple padlock on my luggage tie-down. Adds a small key to my keyring but otherwise doesn't bother me.

+1 If the screws don't come free with VERY minimal effort, they're not hot enough. I also gave my screwdriver a good whack with a wrench just before turning it just to be sure it was seated in the head properly, may also help break the threadlocker. Regardless, don't be afraid to use more heat...

Did you try using A LOT of heat? I bought one of those butane microtorches specifically for this job, as without it I couldn't get a single screw out. After getting the torch, all 8 were out within 5 minutes. Definitely the key to making the flies install cake.

got mine Monday and have the old ones out, just waiting for a couple replacement screws in the mail( broke off my screwdriver tip in one of them and another was just a pain) and I'll have it all back together and can report on the change. Also possibility of getting a couple dyno pulls in this...

It was definitely a welcome change coming from the rebel, but now I can finally go on long freeway rides without worrying about my bike buzzing apart. More fun in the twisties was also a welcome addition, dragging pegs a couple times on the rebel was more scary than fun. My dad owns the rebel...
