I've got an '07. My first service oil change was done with petro oil.
At 3000 miles, I switched over to Repsol Full Synthetic. I did another change around 6000 and I've not had any issues.
I've got blue strips on my Kobalt FZ1 and just recently put some red ones on my wife's Shift Red FZ6. Don't have any good pictures of mine, but this is a pic of the wife's yesterday morning. Even at 8:30am with the flash on, they stand out. Oh wait, you can see a slice of the blue on my kobalt...
She's an '07. She's the blue one over in the picture thread next to the red FZ6.
Don't have any exact numbers for you, but she definitely breathes better, especially in combination with the PCIII.

I LOOOOOOOOOVE my FZ. :D
Don't skimp on gear. Get yourself some good leathers, gloves and boots. I work saftey crew for m/c roadracing and track days and see lots and lots and lots of crashes.
Don't ride outside of your skill level. Get to know your bike and the track. Have someone who races check your suspension...
Dale Walker / Holeshot make a great FE. I got the one without blinkers last year and converted to a Clear Alternatives integrated light.
I'm now going to order a bracket and cat eye blinkers from Holeshot for added safety to make sure people behind me can can see my intentions.
Greetings to all my fellow FZ1 riders. I have an '07, slightly modded and live in the Northern Virginia area.
If any of you find yourselves out this way and want to take in some m/c road racing action, you'll find my wife and I at Summit Point Raceway for all the 2 wheeled events!
