Square tyres and no rear would have made some of those roads...well interesting!
I actually find myself using my rear more often these days than I ever did on my VTR1000, don't know why, bit better feel with the FZ1 and I think I'm probably carrying a bit more speed into some corners, which...
I'll be heading through the Valley on Friday. I try and stay away on weekends, too many cars, other riders and police for my liking. I have a nice two hour loop from my place in the Gong up Mac Pass down and through Kangaroo Valley, onto Berry and back to Wollongong via Kiama and Jamberoo, now...
Hey Greg, sorry for the slow reply, haven't been on here in a while. Will probably do that loop later in July, kids taking up my first few weekends this month. Will be in touch. Burnesy
Happyfinger I'm down in the Gong. I often head up into the highlands for a spin and sometimes turn that into a bit of a Mac Pass-Kangaroo Valley-Kiama Loop. If you are keen let me know and I'll drop you a lineto give you a heads up next time I take off on that sort of ride. I usually plan a...
You are braver than me. A combination of double demerits plus copious amounts of tourist traffic saw my bike get locked up last Thursday. She won't be being let out till mid next week. At which time we are going to go and get reacquainted with a nice 1500km 3 day trip :)
I'd be keen also.
Very happy at seeing the sun out and about today here in the "Gong. Hopefully holds for the weekend so I can:
A. clean my bike after a month of wet weather commuting, and
B. take my then shiney bike for a good ride :)
I have an ICON Motohead. Great four seasons jacket (our four seasons in Australia anyway) copes with our summer heat so long as you are moving and a good removable liner for cold weather.
Got mine here: Icon Motorhead Leather Jacket - RidersDiscount.com
I sort of understand those comments seem fair enough. For me I'd prefer March as it would mean i could get down there.
There you go, change the date for Burnsey!
Yeah thinking about and praying for all those up north. Wollongong got flooded in the late 90's and it was incredibly sudden. Luckily no lives lost back then. It is simply amazing the power a large volume of water moving downstream has. Lots of those towns in the central west of QLD I've spent...
If they are not sure then I'm not using it, and I don't.
Agree with the earlier statements that finding 91/92 without ethanol added is getting harder. Have a couple of places down here however even these ones are moving away from the no ethanol blend over the next 6 months. After that I'll be...
I generally use 91 in mine. For the first 12 months (2008/9) I had my bike (2003 FZ1) I kept a detailed log of what went in and the km's I was getting per tank. A total of 16,000kms for the year
Over the 2500 km's it ran 98 octane I averaged 6.68L/100km
Over the 5000 km's it ran 95 octane I...
Gazza, may be useful to try the local tourist organisations, they focus on $ first and they know motorbike riders are good for that. Also they are there to sort that stuff out, maybe get them to do some looking around for you? Just a thought, cheers, Burnesy
