I went with a Nitron rear shock and spring. More than happy with it except for the cheapo bracket they supplied for the reservoir mount. I replaced that with a couple of P clamps attached to my top box frame.
I was familiar with Nitron for their quality work with Lotus.
I'm still here Blanchy. I was driving around your neck of the woods yesterday.
A few weeks ago I I saw you and your bike on the M1 cruising into Wahroonga but again, I was in the cages didn't wave or nod.
John, I'll take it off your hands. PM me payment details and I'll transfer money today. May even be able to organise pick-up if you let me know where is Sydney.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.
Yamaha, in their wisdom, doesn't make it easy to pull the footrest assembly apart. The pin that goes through the footrest and spring is basically a long cold rivet and I'll have to grind or file it off. That still applies if I decide to buy those eBay footrests...
The spring in my left footrest spring has broken :(
Any of you guys who have changed your rearset or footrests interested in doing a deal? The parts catalogue doesn't show the spring by itself and I don't know how common they are.
Nice pics and write up.

I remember staying at a nice motel just South of Mendocino in the early 00's. It was the first and only time I've ever seen hummingbirds. The motel owners had feeders out...
