Thanks!
I love the bike I just don't ride enough to justify the expense / garage space. I am working on getting rid of some student loans and this will put a big dent in them.
I just found this info about the Gen 1 Exup valve:
The valve should start to open from its closed position at 2000 rpm and be fully open by around 6000 rpm. At lower revs the valve restricts the exhaust gas flow improving the scavenging of the motor and increasing torque. Above 6000 rpm, the...
Hmm, I assumed it was supposed to be closed at first because in diagnostic mode it moves 3 seconds to full open and than 3 seconds to full closed. It would have to be initially at closed for it to go to the full open. Looks like I'm on the wrong track to getting thing working.
So can someone...
I think we're backwards here, shouldn't it be closed at idle if it's for noise control? If it's wide open it isn't cutting back any noise at all. At least that's how my 08 cbr1k worked. It would open up the larger exhaust port at 4k in 3rd gear.
It's connected but the problem I'm having is I had the servo ripped completely apart and the gears and pulley are out of alignment. There is a sensor in the assembly that causes the servo to turn until it hits that sensor. I have it out of whack so when the bike turns on it is turning to the...
I'm guessing the dyno is done at WOT, is it possible that maybe the valve is more effective with normal riding at less than 50% throttle?
Didn't mean to start a debat on the subject, I just wanted to fix my servo.
Bought a modded bike and because of my riding style these days (90% commuting) I decided to go back to the sewing machine sound. My exup servo wasn't moving much so I disassembled the crap out of it, I had gears and grease everywhere. I managed to get it all back together but I think in that...
