Thanks guys.
It is a composite of three shots, identically framed but 2 f-stops apart and then processed with an application called Photomatix Pro to produce a High Dynamic Range (HDR) image.
I'd normally shoot this kind of stuff using a tripod but I didn't have one with me on the day so it was handheld. I think that is why I have the colour aberrations around the tree on the left of the picture.
