If you could get a Cruiser.....which one?

We'v all got the FZ1 and are enjoying them, but I'm thinking sometimes that I wish I also had a cruiser bike, or even as the only bike I had. I'v had around 50 different bikes in my lifetime 57 years, so I doubt the good O'l FZ will be the last. What big cruiser rings your chimes??

My list is short.
#1. Yamaha Stratoliner
#2. Kawasaki Vulcan 2000
#3. Honda Aero Shadow circa 1999-2000

So have you any model that you'd like to own?

Yamaha's Star Line sells more cruisers than any other Japanese MFG. There has to be a reason for that. I would go for the Stratoliner. They just came out with a full touring model with hard bags and a batwing front fairing, passing lamps, chrome, etc. If I had the funds that's the one I would get.

My two sense.:)

Not the cruiser type. Have no interest in them. To each their own. :)

But if you want a cruiser, why not get it over with and buy a Harley? Then you'd be cool and look tough.

Ohh......then

I find myself leaning towards being a bit to mendicant to gather and socalize in Harley Davidson circles, though I find myself entertained by their wit, knowledge and eclectic charisma, ultimatly I find that they are too brash for my delicate constitution. Besides it's usually the Dentist with the HD botique Black T Shirt bragging or emenating 'BAD' that has my leanings elsewhere. I like RICE, it's better made and so much less influenced by louts.

I have not ridden on, or driven a cruiser. When I sit on them in a dealership they feel quite heavy and the ergos at least from just sitting on them doesn't appeal to me very much. Of course from how many people take trips on them, they must be comfy. I just don't have any personal experience on them.

I switched from the FZ1 to a cruiser just for the power and a bit better ergos. Gas mileage went the wrong way but the fun factor is high.

2009 Vmax

I had a Cruiser, long ago, a 1981 Yamaha XJ 650. Shaft drive I4 (great motor - unkillable) very comfy, drove it everywhere including my honeymoon. I just outgrew it riding style wise. Buddies with sport bikes and it was causing damage keeping up (trying). At the time I could not get enough of it ! Oddly enough in a very similar colour to my current ride, some tastes stay with you I guess.

All 5 that I have owned. Why mess with a good thing, they have all been great bikes in their own right. Funny because the first bike that I ever rode was a Honda. The first ride when I was very young was on a Honda as well. Seems the Yamahas turned my crank more!

RE: My Cruiser

Hey Guys,

My favorite cruiser is my current one: 2006 Harley Davidson Softail Heritage Classic with the screamin eagle 95" engine upgrade !

My favorite sports-bike is my current one: 2001 FZ1 with all the best mods ! (down for repairs right now)

My favorite touring ride is my current one: 1990 Honda GL-1500 and it's modded to the max too !

BTW, I am recovering from a recent spill on the FZ. On April 12th., I got a little too much front-brake and locked the wheel at 40+mph. while slowing for traffic. Road rash on the knees and elbows. $700 in replacement parts and she's very nearly back together as I report this. Waiting now on the new (black) top cowling, the frame sliders, the bar sliders and the clutch lever that got trashed. When the parts come in I should be back on the road with her in just a days time. If my knee heals by then . . .ouch
