Replacing my Beloved FZ

The Cosmic Avenger
Its been over a month since she was taken from me. I cant tell you how much I miss her. She was mine and fit like a glove. This is why I couldn't get another. I did okay with the ins but still lost a bunch. It would just plain cost too much to do another and not having one exactly like her would just not be the same.

So today a friend went and gave a detailed inspection of the new ride. Its a 07 with 4,000 miles, she is unmolested. I pick it up a week from friday. I'm in WV right now and have to go to hailfax soon as I get home on Monday.

Very nice.
It's a very different bike to your FZ1.
It looks to be in awesome condition.
Enjoy it mate.

Very cool but.... Be prepared for a lot of maintenance. The service intervals aren't as long as the Yamaha's and my boss' bike seems to always be broke or in the shop all the time! I sincerely hope you have better luck.

It is because of my boss that I have the FZ1. I was all set to get the Aprilia Shiver 750 but after long talks with him, he convinced me to stay with the Japanese and forget about Italy. ;)

Sorry that you didn't get another FZ1 but you don't seem to commute or tour anyway so right tool for the right job I would say! She looks great. Hopefully there is no shady history especially when buying used from a exchange dealer. Maintenance would not be so great but it would still be much better than the Sucatis!

So sorry about your FZ1. I'm glad you are getting another bike. Darn it, I'm at work until morning and I can't see the pictures. I'll look on my phone later. I understand it's Italian and assume it's an Ape. Congrats! :cheerleader:

Nice replacement bike. I would agree with the moderator it will be more expensive to maintain compared to your previous FZ1. But what the heck as long as you are happy enjoy it!

Nice bike Johnny! Congrats :D

I understand about not getting another FZ1...

Hey you should go and get this FZR1000 while you're at it ;)

1988 Yamaha FZR 1000

I love that white with blue. I rode an FZ 700 in blue back in the very early '90's. I wanted one then, but I couldn't swing it.

I think it looked like this...

That FZR1000 is a sweet bike. The FJ's and RZ's were my first wants. Then it moved to FZ's and FZR's. Johnny needs both bikes, I think. Right? ;)

This generation with the exception of a wire connector is as reliable as most japanese machines. Its a Rotax engine with valve intervals at 15k. There are many that are are 60k and still going.

Cycle Exchange rocks!

Hey, Johnny good luck, and I'm sorry to have heard about your fz.

I wanted to say that I have bought 2 bikes from The Cycle Exchange, and have had great experiences. My first bike was an 04 SV650 a few years ago that I had great luck with. During the time that I was riding my sv, they became an authorized Yamaha Dealer. So, then I decided to trade in the sv to these guys for my new 2012 fz1 this past March. This experience was even better than the first! They are now remodeling another location in NJ, I happen to know, so they are obviously treating other people well and growing!

I know it must be a bit tough to shop from far away, so I thought my story would help ease your mind. Good luck with the pretty Aprilia! --MW
