Things are different. The intake roar from the cut air box is almost gone. I can tell you that the engine braking is much smoother feeling when you roll off the throttle. It should make setting your corner speed much easier and precise. I have never even come close to hitting the rev limiter before. In the video you will see me rip out of a corner in 1st gear and it zips through the RPMs way faster than it did prior. Just watch the video.

If you don't mind me asking, what does Ivan charge for that? I'd really consider sending mine into him. I don't have any performance mods, like PCV, airbox, exhaust. I assume it's still well worth it. I know it runs a bit lean anyway. I have a 2007 FZ1 in cobalt blue (naturally faster), but I'd like the ECU proper.

Eric, you don't have the Ivan ECU, do you? Here's another mod you could do! :flash:

Edit:

: oops: I just read the first few posts of this thread and it answered my questions. Sorry for the stupid post. I missed the thread when you were talking about getting it flashed. My bad.

Simply call Ivan up for a quote and an explanation.

too bad we cant get a "loaner" ecu goin. I know that it doesnt take too long to get it done, but I would prefer not to have her down for a few days.

It would be nice, but his turn around is fast. Plus, I know I don't want to deal with having to ship more and have more chances for problems. Not a can of worms I would care to open.

Just managed to watch the video, that's awesome power! Tempted, very tempted! Now just gotta save my pennies for Ivan :D

I need to call him about the wife's '09 Ninja 250R also. It's so damn lean it has to be chocked to start in 90 degree weather. Runs decent after warm.

Sorry, I don't mean to keep asking questions only Ivan can answer.

No problem, I just don't want to give you the wrong info.
