2013 FZ1 Fork Size?

Hi All,

Can anyone with a 2013 model tell me what fork diameter you have?

Mine are 60mm Dia for most of the fork length (they do taper down at the top).

I have purchased a steering damper mount from ebay and the fork clamp is 50mm.
The ebay seller is claiming the 50mm bracket fits the FZ1 stock fork and that I must have modified mine (which I haven't).

I'm wondering if there is a difference between the Aus model and the US/Europe models.

Any info appreciated.

I'm 99.9% sure that the forks are identical worldwide for the entire run of your FZ1. Could it be that he sent you a kit for the first gen?

I guess it's possible, is the Gen I fork 50mm???

It states all years of Gen II (2006 - 2013).

I'm hopeful they will replace the part, just need to convince them I haven't modified the forks.

I'll put my calipers on the forks when I get home this afternoon from work and see what mine are. I have a 2014.

Are your forks the same Dia. for the whole length?

Mine are 60mm for most, then taper down to 50mm at the top.

I'm still keen to hear from others around the world with a 2013 model.

I measured at the top and bottom and it was 50mm at both.

It seems the Aus model and the US model are different!
I wonder why Yamaha would do that??


If anyone with a non-US model could give the measurements of their forks, I would appreciate it.

I really sincerely doubt that. I think it's more likely your measurements are off.

Yamaha Australia gives this part number for the left fork assembly:
2D1-23102

Yamaha USA gives this number:
2D1-23102

There are two digits at the end which I would guess indicate colour.

I have 50mm top and 60mm bottom and I live in Australia. I put Ohlins forks meant for the R1 on my bike they also run 50/60.

Where are you trying to mount the damper? Most mount at the top of the fork leg, right below the top clamp where the fork is 50mm in diameter.

Fork is definitely 60mm Dia. with taper to 50 at the top.

Thanks Dicko for confirming this.

I am trying to mount the damper under the triple in front of the radiator (see pics).
I believe the mount I bought is designed this way.
This part of the fork is still 60mm.

Haven't heard from the Ebay seller for awhile, not sure what's happening.
Might have to get my own 60mm clamp.

they usually mount on top like this. I think if you mounted underneath you may have clearance issues with the radiator.
