There is usually something that I am working on that doesn't really fit into the Non-FZ motorcycle category, and I'm sure that I'm not alone. I thought that I would make a place for things that you are working on in your Shop, Garage, Man-Cave, etc.

My recent examples are improvements to my Shop / Garage.

Missing jaws and in rough shape.

Basket case vise looking for a little (OK a lot of) TLC

first coat of paint on it.

I had to fabricate a new jaw since it was missing one, source and modify the mounting screws since the new heads were too big. A grinder fixed that. Extracted the broken-off original (3 of 4) screws. The handle was so rusty and beat up that I used a bench grinder with a wire wheel to buff it to a shine. It didn't take out the dents and dings but it did smooth and clean it nicely.

More progress pictures to come.

Multi-Purpose Shop Stand

Previous to this I bulit a stand (I designed painted and assembled, but had our welder build) that will serve as a mount for the vise, and other things including my tire-changer.

It was built from scrap pipe, plate steel and an old drum from a commercial truck.

Light

When my buddies were over using this;

We could have used a bit more light in the spot where I usually park my car, and the only spot that does not have a dual 8 foot flourescent. I fixed the problem with an old, unused 4 light unit that had a grounded plug for portable use.

screwed into the studs at a 45 degree angle to light up the dark corner of the garage.

Show me what you have been up to lately in the fun part of your property.

My current project is restoration of my 20yr old boat trailer. 10yrs of fresh water then 10 of salt. Salt is like putting it in acid. Before and after pictures will follow.

Vise Progress

Lost a few more brain cells painting a second coat, mainly to get the inside and undersides done. Then removed the masking tape and attached the jaws.

Took awhile to find the SAE Allen Key needed as none of the Metric were close enough.

Final clean upand assembly once the paint hardens in a couple of days.

That looks much cozier. I take it you are re-installing the Marble in front of the fireplace?

Yes. I need to have the vertical marble face re-cut, as the hardwood is about 10mm higher than the ceramic floor was. I have a small wet saw, but I will bring it to a shop and have a pro do the necessary cuts...

Installed my ToyTec 3" suspension lift, a diff drop and new Light Racing UCAs. Just need to get the alignment done now. Side by side before and after... before being in NH and after being the heart of Texas today!
