Question Fz1s digital readout and speedo fault

    Hi All
Had to leave my bike alone on trickle charger for 6/7 weeks as i recovered from an op, now the display and speedometer flick on and off. Sometimes other warning lights on speedometer flick on and off also and dial hand sticks wide open on occasions .No other electrics are effected and bike rides as normal.

What's going on here guys as someone else has posted the very same fault as this after not using his bike a while. Is this the rectifier as someone mentioned. Why would that fail for lack of use?

I do remember turning the key in the ignition and leaving it set to start a fair few more seconds than usual before firing up the ignition (fell over) .Wondered if that delay did something.
Can anyone help i have lost contact with the Yamaha Mechanic after the Dealership closed so no one to me locally.
