    Default Severe jerking RPM

I bought a Yamaha FZ1 2nd hand. 2007 model. 9000km on the clock. Had service done at Yamaha. They asked too much and didn’t even do everything they siad on the invoice. So I refuse to pay them more to look into this issue.

If the bike is cold I have no issues. So on short trips it is wonderful.

However, if I drive it for about and hour. I start noticing a jerk or jump in the rpm. It would gradually increase until it is unbearable. The higher I rev it the bigger the jumps. The problem is somewhere with the engine itself, even in neutral or with clutch pulled the issue is there.

Example: I would hold the throttle still at 8000 rpm, but it would drop to 6500 and instantly back to 8000.

It feels dangerous to drive like this. Very unpredictable and jerks the whole bike. Normally if this happens I would drive home without going over 4k revs. Still feel it. Just less aggressive.

Ths problem is not with the exup valve or exaust as I initially thought. Tested it without the stock slip-on and had the same issue. Btw it felt like the bike had more power without the exhaust on. The front end felt very light upon acceleration.

    Please help.

    Is the bike possibly overheating?
Is the an issue with the fuel pump?

    Anyone had this issue before?

Thank you very much for reading.
