Welcome, the best thing you can do to a new bike is a 100% make-over. brakes, fluids, tires, filters, chain. That will guarantee a happy healthy relationship between you and the bike! lol.
I am upgrade my FZ8 to a Fazer euro front end so I will no longer need this setup.
This is for 100% needed plug and play.
This will include the gauge mounts, all the plastics and trims. the headlight, the bulbs / wiring harness for the retrofit, and a PUIG smoked windscreen. The neon yellow...
I have an fz8 with these mods:
2013 FZ8 Matte Grey Metallic
Personally Retrofitted Headlight
Akrapovic Full Carbon Race System
TurboJoeTuned 109/62
Graves Block Off Plates
Modded Airbox
Frame Sliders
De-stickered
Fender Eliminator
Motodynamic Clear-Lens Integrated LED tail light...
Due to the title I figured I'd include what I did to my 2013 FZ8 since it is essentially the same as a 2nd gen FZ1 minus 200CC
I installed a 2008 R1 Shock with less than 1000 miles on it via Satan's newest line of adapters.
Riding is so much more stable and comfy.

I ride an FZ8 an have ridden the FZ1, the only major improvement is the fairing, the power difference is nice but not needed, the fairing does help with longer trips. But The FZ8 holds its own everywhere else aswell. The FZ1 would be an upgrade only for longer trips IMO.

The headlight is still available.
The swap will consist needing your gauge bracket/upper fiaring stuff/mounts. headlights. blinkers, mirrors and windshield.

I run a heavy duty bike lock (pedal bike) through my frame, through my jacket sleeve and threw the main opening in my helmet to lock that stuff down. As far as security, when I park my bike at home it gets pinched between my car, my fiancé's and the house so no one can get to it without moving...
Everything will be a direct swap back and forth, I'd appreciate a little money on your end since i have a retrofitted headlight.
I am located in CT, and willing to do all the actual work/wiring if you come to me.

I just installed TechSpec Snake Skin Tank pads on my 2013 FZ8, i had some extra Revzilla Cash, so I figured what the hell, Although they are expensive for just a piece of rubber, they do their job very well. I slid forward especially with a passenger. I also have a Shad seat which helped a...
park 20ft from a wall.
sit on the bike and turn the headlight on, the top of the beam should be 2" lower on the wall than the distance measured from the ground to the center of the headlight

Installed the SHAD Comfort seat on my FZ8 to help with my +1 to stop sliding forward and crushing my manhood into the tank. Best 350$ spent on the bike.
