Yeah wire it to the tail light or something so it only gets power when the ignition is turned on. I don't think the FZ1 has an accessory socket in the wiring harness, so you'll have to improvise something.
sorry i only just saw this, i can generally do mon-thurs 6pm-7pm or else sat/sun 10am-11am. send me a pm if interested and can do one of those times. south melbourne, pickup only.
yep as above my correction factor was set to -9.2% or something like that with no conversion, so doesn't matter whether mph or kph it just applies the correction factor

Unfortunately I wrote off my FZ1 last year and I have the following bits n bobs hanging around that aren't worth selling, so first person who wants them can have them, the only catch is that you have to collect them (I live near the CBD) and you have to take the lot :)
All parts came off my...
I have SpeedoDRD for sale. Perfect condition, came off a Gen2 FZ1N 2010, will work on any FZ1, it plugs straight into the stock harness. Will sell for £40 including postage from Australia. Mine is GPS calibrated for 16T front sprocket on a Gen2, stock rear. Instructions are here, it's easy to...
I'm on an MT09 these days and they're all getting their ECUs reflashed by Yamaha dealers. At least two dealers in Melbourne are doing it. Just a matter of having the right cable and software.
There are four bolts that hold the tail section onto the bike, they are underneath the pillion seat. You can only access these bolts from the top to remove them.
There are six wires going to the tail/fender 2 for each indicator and 2 for the number plate light.
It's a fantastic mod, every Gen2 owner should do it. I definitely recommend the SpeedoHealer or SpeedoDRD with it, my correction with the 16T and a 190/55 on the back is -10.5%.
I've a mate who has an FZ1 without either of these mods, I'll link it to him.
CHRIST OF ALMIGHTY who would do that to a perfectly good bike
Well, maybe a Norman Bates type of badass.
Mother, is that you? Add more pink shit to my motorbike? Of course mother
Front mudguard 2 blue 3 black
I have a white one and I wouldn't change it :) but if I had to pick something else for my bike I'd go with the matte grey/black colour scheme on the 2012 FZ8 2012 Yamaha FZ8N
Yes indeedy, one experience of coming back to my bike after accidentally leaving my parking lights on all day was enough for me to invest in one of these.
I got two cables with mine, one has ring terminals to an SAE connector, that one is permanently connected to the battery. The other cable is...
