Alpinestarts SMX - Great fit, especially for wide feet.
I'm currently using the SMX-5 for daily riding, usually I'm wearing leather pants, but I'll admit to wearing them with jeans when I take my wife out to dinner on the bike, or just heading out to lunch during the day at work.
I've...
The R800GS is fun to ride. My coworker took his K1300GT in for service and got the 800GS as a loaner for the day.
We took turns flogging it around parking lots, jumping curbs, medians, and other obstacles.
Our conclusion: "the F800GS inspires stupidity".
Every time we did something...
The US helmet standard has been put to the test and actually shown to actually cause head injury from being too firm on lower energy impacts (or smaller heads).
The european standard is supposedly best so far, I'm not sure how it compares in AUS... but the standards are different, and not all...
I'm trying to find one that I saw recently:
~$140k invested into this bike.... apparently he "hit something on the road".... sigh...Heavily Modified Ducati 1098r Crash - YouTube
Some of the crash videos from there are the best... not because they are extreme, but because you see really really really nice bikes destroyed by inexperience.
I'm not sure I could buy nearly-custom titanium exotica from skilled craftsmen for less money.
I'd get the Hailwood "new blue", it would carry the most value over time.
You could try to build one yourself, but Hailwood road an NCR, not one I built myself.
Still check for a ground fault somewhere first. You may have a frayed wire, stripped by rubbing on something. Often wires get frayed by the head-tube in front of the airbox or triple trees.
Do you have any "custom" (home made) electrical connection? Or is everything stock wiring harness...
The other day as I approached a Honda Cruiser (not sure which model) I watched the side walls crush and squirm on the rear car tire he was using.
It looked like the bike would be able to stand up without a kickstand, if it didn't look so sloppy every time he moved left or right in the lane...
Um... no, it is pretty common out here too.
(brush up on euphemisms on the Urban Dictionary... there are some that would shock you.)
Personally, I prefer Cockney Rhyming Slang... they have the best phrases. (***edit here's a decent Cockney dictionary http://www.aldertons.com/english-.htm)...
Nice work!
Now you get the fun part of messing with your compression settings/rebound settings.
Just don't push cornering too hard and low-side the bike. :P
Lane sharing is far safer during normal commuting "rush hour" times than off-hour times or weekends.
In my area the speed limit is 70mph, but most traffic usually is at 75-85mph.
I share lanes daily for commuting comfortably up to 70-90mph. Nearly all autos on the freeways I travel on...
Call them "grandpa bikes"... :)
I just did a google search on "average age of Harley Davidson owner" and the first article was from Sept. 10, 2001:Harley Davidson | Automotive | brandchannel.com
If you have a Harley, chances are you have grandchildren. If you don't have grandchildren, you...
I've used magnetic tank bags for year-round daily commuting with laptops, cell phones, cameras, etc in them, and the only time I have ever had an issue is when I left the laptop running while I rode into work.
Since the hard drive heads were not parked they crashed into the platters and...
You probably won't find it on their website, just call Racetech, the technicians or sales folk have access to more complete lists of rates and the ability to get custom rates (if needed) from Eibach for you.
If you go to Eibach directly, they'll probably only point you to their automobile...
Eibach Springs is down the street from RaceTech. If you require a custom spring beyond what RaceTech has in stock, they source/retail from Eibach's factory.
Eibach Springs : Performance Suspension | Lowering Springs | Sway Bars | Shocks | Coilover | Wheel Spacer
Call and ask.
