As someone that has V35's and an E52, a roomy duffle is in some ways better than V35's. You can fit more into it without learning origami, the V35's are oddly shaped and a pain to efficiently use all the space in them. There's also the matter of getting stuff on and off the bike. I always feel...

Ratchet strap, I like that I can make it tight and it won't move. The bungee's always move around if the bag is heavyish.
Supposedly Rokstraps are good, but I've never tried them. The ratchet tie down's work well for me.
Haven't used that bag, but for my money I would just get a plain, non bike specific duffel. Used to use a Motopak 60L duffel, which while being marketed as a moto bag, is not much different than something you can get from a sporting goods store for $30-40.

Just like that the cycle is complete. Picked up the FZ1 a couple weeks ago, someone came by and picked up my FZ6 (2006 Yamaha FZ6 with Givi racks and luggage) this morning.
Here's the new toy, but can't stop thinking about the old one.
1400miles isn't that far. Especially in the states where you're never far from civilization. Only thing I would pack is a credit card and a AAA membership.
