I used the correct Yamaha 01 oil I am 75kgs very happy, There a lot of people have different ideas what it`s equal too from zero - 5w - 7.5w , different brands seem to be slightly different, but saying that any of the above would be fine may depend a little on personal weight & preference

Been using Motul 7100 10w40 full syn for about 50,000 klms ,clutch - beautiful silky changes zero slippage very happy with the oil & only change every 10,000 klms without any need to top up

I had the same problem after a wash and only started it up before placing it in the garage [ always take it for a ride now after washing], I ended just going for a ride it took about 20klms before it came good ,so don`t be fooled water can get up in there , worth a try

Did you wash [or ride in the rain] it before you put it in the garage? otherwise sounds like one of the coils

Did you Jman214 [ or anyone else ] have any problem getting the inner bearing out?

thanks , I suppose the oil pump nozzle & oil filter sieves out the oil before it reaches the internals ? I think how long the rotor lasts can depend on the type of riding you do, mine is mostly highway & back roads so motor keeps fairly cool, not like slow riding in cities or large towns...

How many Miles on your bike Jman214 did the original rotor last ,thanks

No sure if I will keep my bike { been bulletproof } if I do just wondering who has the most miles/klms on their bike [pre 2010] without the rotor destroying itself? I have 73,350 klms [ 2008 model ] without a problem

I never fill the reservoir more than half way between max & min [2008] otherwise it will lose water out of overflow when hot ,this happens to a lot of vehicles , i only fill to max when engine is well & truly hot.

Yep! many of good bike rides in Tassie, but I was catching up will a old flame, so a camper gave us plenty of time to get to know each other again:rolleyes:

If your doing 3 bikes it most likely will work out a lot cheaper to buy concentrated coolant , I all ways do anyway as all the water does`nt come out, just look up the volume of water/coolant for each bike. I mix at 50/50 and always add the coolant volume first then top up with distilled water ...

I used to get a kocking noise in my front end but only when going slow, I tighten the front suspension slightly and now never notice it, I believe my head bearings are still fine even with over 68,000 Klms on the bike but I do`nt do wheelstands, dirt roads, etc and ride fairly smoothly
